Parijda boʻlib oʻtgan WomenInTech konferensiyasida ilk bor Oʻzbekiston vakillari ishtirok etdi.

For the first time, representatives of Uzbekistan participated in the annual WomenInTech Global international summit, the official website of the Ministry of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan reports.

Uzbekistan joined the WomenInTech organization in March 2023 and is participating in this event in 2024. The purpose of the summit is to create a valuable platform for the exchange of ideas and experiences with the participants. The event featured panel discussions, presentations, and networking opportunities aimed at empowering women in IT, supporting inclusion in the industry, and making positive changes in the technology environment. 450 representatives of the delegation from more than 50 countries and 70 speakers took part in the summit.

One of the members of the delegation who participated on behalf of Uzbekistan, Kamola Sobirova, adviser to the Minister of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan, also participated in the panel discussion on the topic “Beyond Glass Ceilings: Women in Tech Leadership.” Kamola Sobirova talked about the state policy of increasing the socio-political activity of women in Uzbekistan, creating conditions for them to realize their abilities and opportunities in various fields, and about several activities carried out by the Ministry of Digital Technologies to attract women to professions in the STEM field.

On the 2nd day of the event, as part of the Technovation Girls competition, the video “Ayol yoʻli” of Uzbek girls who created the Sinov VR application was presented to the participants of the summit. Gulnoza Abdurashidova, one of the participants in the project, also participated in the panel discussion and shared her experience.

For information, the WomenInTech organization, founded in 2018, has set itself the ultimate goal of attracting 5 million women to the world of technology by 2030. Today, the organization includes more than 9,000 ambassadors and 80,000 technical experts from 179 countries around the world.

At the end of the event, the idea of holding the Women in Tech CCA Awards summit in Uzbekistan was put forward.
