The official website of the Ministry of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan reports that on May 11 of this year, the awarding ceremony of the winners of the IT Star competition held among girls by the IT Ladies community organized under the IT education association of the Ministry of Digital Technologies.
The main goal of the IT Star competition is to promote the IT field among girls, support girls in this field, establish mutual networking, and exchange experience. More than 700 applications were received from different regions of the republic. In evaluating the girls, the jury, consisting of residents of the IT Ladies community, representatives of the IT Education Association, and IT Community Uzbekistan, took into account the achievements of the applicants, the relevance of their projects, and their activities in the community. Thus, talented project managers, marketers, programmers, graphic designers, IT recruiters, freelancers, and professionals in any direction related to the IT field (journalists, lawyers, students, researchers, engineers, etc.) were awarded 46 nominations.
During the ceremony, it was announced that the next Seed for the Future 2024 educational project, which will be held among the youth of the Middle East and Central Asian countries, will be held in Uzbekistan. The project planned for August 2024 is intended to unite 150 participating students from more than 15 countries in the region.
At the end of the ceremony, leading experts in the IT field gave lectures on various topics, such as the opportunities for girls in the IT field, combining study and work, the path of women in management positions, and the development of a personal brand.
