The acceptance of works for the local stage of the international Technovation Girls competition in Uzbekistan, which was created to encourage girls to pursue careers in information technology, has been completed, according to gazeta.uz.
More than 1,300 girls developed 83 projects that help solve social problems with the help of technology and innovation within the framework of the Technovation Girls Uzbekistan contest. Projects include interesting ideas such as an anti-bullying program among teenagers and an online helper for studying and homework.
On May 31, the awarding ceremony for the winners and prize-winners of the regional stage of the competition will be held. The best teams from Uzbekistan will go to the US state of California to participate in the international final stage and present their project.
In addition to the main nominations, the Yandex company also announced a special prize in the Smart City (solving problems in the urban environment) and AI for Good (projects working with artificial intelligence) categories.
For information, Technovation Girls is an international non-profit organization, and last year alone, about 7,000 girls from 61 countries around the world proposed more than 2,000 solutions to societal problems. Among them, the test project presented by the Tecnas team of Uzbek girls took part in the global finals in California and became one of the best six teams in the world.
